The Design Team Health Check is a structured diagnostic for design leaders, followed by a 90-minute working session with me to unpack what it reveals, and identify what to act on first.

They struggle because of how they operate inside the organisation—how work flows, how decisions are made, how design is positioned. These constraints aren't always obvious. They tend to show up as patterns over time: misalignment, limited influence, inconsistent impact.
The diagnostic helps you see those patterns clearly. The session is where we work out what to do about them.
What's included.
1. The Design Team Health Check. A structured self-assessment covering five areas of team performance:
Team culture and morale
Strategic visibility and influence
Capability and skills
Ways of working and systems
Leadership and direction
Takes 10–15 minutes. You complete it before we meet.
2. The 90-minute session. We go through your results together on a shared Miro board, section by section. I'll help you:
Unpack what the diagnostic is telling you
Diagnose the causes behind the patterns, not just the symptoms
Identify the one or two most pressing issues to address
Leave with a clear, practical way to start addressing it
This isn't a generic readout. It's a working session, shaped around you and your team.
How it works
Get in touch. Tell me a bit about your team and what's prompting the enquiry.
I'll send you time options. I hold a limited number of session slots. I'll offer you a few that work.
Book your slot and complete payment. Once you've chosen a time, I'll send a Stripe payment request which you can pay by bank transfer or credit card.
Complete the health check. I'll send this straight away, it takes 10–15 minutes, and doing it before we meet means we can go straight into the working session.

I’m a Design Futurist and Strategic Design Leader based in Wellington, New Zealand. I’ve been practising and teaching futures thinking for over 15 years, always in service of real design outcomes rather than as a standalone academic discipline.
I’m a certified IFTF Strategic Foresight Practitioner and have run futures thinking sessions for design teams across government, financial services, technology, and education, in NZ and internationally.
